#2 LATEST IN AI TODAY📎
What Happened (Apr 2026):
OpenAI released ChatGPT Images 2.0 (what are the chances of it coming out 4 days after Claude Design), a new image model that plans before generating and delivers far more accurate, usable visuals.
What You Need to Know:
Unlike older models, 2.0 actually “thinks first” — it can plan the image, pull context from the web (paid plans), and even check outputs before showing them.
It’s especially strong at things that usually break image models — like text inside images, exact instructions, and weird aspect ratios (from ultrawide to vertical).
It now tops Arena’s leaderboard by a big margin, and can generate up to 8 high-res (2K) images at once with multilingual text support.
Why It Matters:
This takes image generation from “cool but messy” to something you can actually use without fixing it.

What Happened (Apr 2026):
Meta is rolling out an internal program that records employee activity on work laptops to train its AI models — with no opt-out option.
What You Need to Know:
The system logs screenshots, keystrokes, and mouse activity, especially from tools like VSCode, Gmail, and internal AI systems.
Employees reportedly cannot opt out, with leadership saying the data helps improve models through real-world workflows.
Around 8,000 employees leaving the company will have their work tracked in their final month, adding to internal concerns.
Why It Matters:
AI needs real data to improve — but this raises a bigger question: how much is too much when it comes to workplace surveillance?
