What Happened (May 2026):
OpenAI launched ChatGPT Spreadsheets, bringing AI-powered spreadsheet creation and editing directly into ChatGPT.
What You Need to Know:
ChatGPT can generate tables, clean data, build charts, and help with calculations directly inside the interface.
Users can now create, analyze, edit, and automate spreadsheets using natural language instead of formulas and manual workflows.
Why It Matters:
Spreadsheets are one of the most-used tools in the world — and OpenAI is trying to make them conversational instead of formula-first.

What Happened (May 2026):
Former OpenAI CTO Mira Murati testified in Elon Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI, accusing Sam Altman of misleading leadership around AI safety reviews and creating internal chaos.
What You Need to Know:
Murati said Altman falsely claimed OpenAI’s legal team approved skipping a model safety review — something she later verified was untrue.
She described Altman giving different instructions to different executives, making leadership coordination difficult and weakening her authority as CTO.
Murati also reflected on Altman’s 2023 firing saga, saying the company was at risk of “falling apart,” while former board member Helen Toner criticized Murati for avoiding conflict internally.
