What Happened (May 2026):
Anthropic and Perplexity both rolled out major finance-focused AI upgrades within hours of each other — pushing deeper into Wall Street and enterprise workflows.
What You Need to Know:
Anthropic launched 10 ready-to-run finance agents for tasks like pitchbooks, KYC reviews, valuations, earnings analysis, and insurance workflows — complete with finance-specific instructions, data connectors, and Claude-powered sub-agents.
Claude is also expanding into enterprise software with Microsoft 365 support and connectors to data providers like Dun & Bradstreet, Verisk, and IBISWorld, giving it direct access to financial intelligence.
Just hours later, Perplexity responded by upgrading Computer with 35 finance workflows + licensed financial data integrations, turning its agent into a research and analysis tool for finance professionals.
Why It Matters:
This is bigger than “AI for finance” — Anthropic and Perplexity are racing to become the default AI operating systems for high-value knowledge work, starting with Wall Street.

Google made NotebookLM Plus free globally, opening up one of the best AI research and productivity tools to everyone.
What You Need to Know:
Earlier, many of NotebookLM’s best features were limited — now anyone can upload PDFs, YouTube videos, research papers, websites, docs, and notes into one AI-powered workspace.
It can summarize content, answer questions from your sources, create study guides, generate podcast-style audio explainers — and make insanely good PPT structures and presentation flows in minutes.
Tried and tested: NotebookLM genuinely feels better than Claude in many cases because it understands all your uploaded material together instead of relying only on prompts.
