#1 LATEST IN AI TODAY📎

What Happened (Nov 13–14, 2025) :
Google launched a set of AI-powered shopping features just ahead of the 2025 holiday season: integrating its Gemini model into Search’s “AI Mode” and the Gemini app, enabling voice-calls to stores, price-tracking, and an “agentic checkout” that can complete purchases using Google Pay.

What You Need to Know:

  • Conversational shopping: users can describe what they want (“grey sweater under ₹5,000 for men”) and get curated results from a database of over 50 billion listings.

  • “Let Google Call” feature: the AI agent can call local stores to check availability and promos, then send you a summary.

  • Agentic checkout: set criteria (item, size, price threshold), and Google can buy it automatically via Google Pay when conditions are met.

  • Retailers participating include Wayfair, Chewy, and select Shopify merchants in U.S. now.

  • Google emphasises the rollout begins in the U.S., with global expansion and more merchants planned.

Why It Matters:
By enabling AI to handle search, comparison, stock check and even checkout, Google shifts shopping from discovery to action. For retailers and brands, this means optimizing for AI visibility and conversion — not just website clicks.

#2 LATEST IN AI TODAY📎

What Happened (Nov 14, 2025):
Leaked financial documents show just how much OpenAI is paying Microsoft—and how expensive running ChatGPT has become. Microsoft earned $493.8M from OpenAI in 2024, but in just the first three quarters of 2025 that number surged to $865.8M, reflecting skyrocketing compute usage.

What You Need to Know:

  • OpenAI’s revenue is projected to exceed $20B annualized by end of 2025.

  • But inference costs alone hit $8.65B in the first nine months of this year.

  • Spending is spread across Azure, CoreWeave, Oracle, AWS, and Google Cloud.

  • This multi-cloud footprint shows OpenAI may be running in the red just to keep its models online.

  • Experts say 5.1 and Sora 2 have massively increased inference load, pushing compute demand to historic levels.

Why It Matters:
OpenAI may be the fastest-growing AI company in history, but its operating costs are scaling even faster. With inference bills rising toward tens of billions annually, profitability becomes a question of compute efficiency—not user growth.
