Meanwhile, NASA and IBM unveiled Surya, an AI that can predict solar storms with surprising accuracy. In your living room, Google’s Gemini is set to replace Assistant on Nest devices this fall.

Google officially launched the Pixel 10 family at its Made by Google event, powered by the new Tensor G5 chip, which unlocks 20+ new AI features.
Gemini live is letting users hold natural, two-way conversations with their device. It’s like having a live AI guide in your pocket.
New AI photography tools include “Creative Assistant” for storyboarding and AI Scene Editor for tweaking entire photos with natural language, while Magic Cue suggests smarter text replies.
Real-time voice translation in 10 languages now preserves your own voice instead of robotic speech, a major leap for natural communication.
Prices start at $799 (Pixel 10) and go up to $1199 (Pixel 10 Pro XL), putting Google head-to-head with the iPhone 16 lineup.
Google’s Rick Osterloh couldn’t resist throwing shade at Apple, saying competitors have made “a lot of broken promises” in AI, setting up the Pixel as the true AI-first smartphone.
NASA and IBM unveiled Surya, an AI model trained on nine years of solar observations.
It predicts solar flares and space weather 16% more accurately than existing models.
Surya tracks sunspots, solar wind, and subtle surface changes that humans often miss.
The model is open-sourced on HuggingFace for researchers worldwide to use and adapt.
With satellites, power grids, and astronauts at risk, Surya could save billions in damage prevention.
Google announced Gemini will fully replace its AI Assistant on Nest speakers and displays this fall.
Gemini for Home can handle complex, multi-part requests in a single sentence.
Powered by Gemini Live, it enables natural conversations like dinner ideas based on fridge contents.
Google will offer both free and paid tiers, with previews starting in October.
The move sets up a fierce smart home AI battle with Amazon Alexa, Samsung, and Apple.
