Last week, we mentioned NotebookLM in one of our issues & casually put in a line asking if you wanted a tutorial.

But what happened next was crazy! You went bonkers asking for the tutorial, left, right & centre. Our inbox blew up.

What is NotebookLM? 

NotebookLM is Google's very own research tool and is very very powerful. But forget everything you think you know about AI tools for a second.

This tool doesn't pull from the internet. It’s not trained using data. But it is built for something bigger, that no other tool like ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini can do.

You give it your documents — a PDF, a YouTube video, a Google Doc, a webpage and it becomes an expert on only that. We like to call it “An EXPERT in seconds”

Ask it anything. It answers from your sources and nothing else.

No hallucinations. No going off script. Just your stuff, deeply understood.

Google has been upgrading this tool fast. The NotebookLM from a year ago barely resembles what it is today. 

Here are some use-cases we tried and are demonstrating for you…so keep reading. 

1. Turning a Research Paper into a VIDEO 

We turned a research paper into a video that you watch while enjoying a snack. Yes, learning is fun again!

We wanted to understand where influencer marketing and the creator economy are actually heading — not just surface level stuff, but the real data, the trends, where the money is moving globally.

So instead of spending hours reading through reports, we did something we hadn't tried before.

We took the research papers, fed them into NotebookLM and asked it to generate a video.

Not a summary. Not bullet points. A video — with visuals, narration, the whole thing; built entirely from what we uploaded.

And it delivered.

The creator economy, brand deals, regional marketing trends — all of it broken down in a format you'd actually sit and watch while enjoying a snack or doing your skincare. Sourced entirely from the documents we gave it. Nothing made up, nothing pulled from outside.

Honestly the first time we saw it we just sat there for a couple minutes in awe.

Because think about what just happened — a dense research paper became a watchable video in a few minutes. No editor, no production, no script writing.

If you learn better by watching than reading, this changes everything.

2. Turn a Document into a podcast episode.

We were still on the same topic — influencer marketing, creator economy, where it's all moving globally.

Same sources still in the notebook. But this time instead of a video we hit generate podcast and honestly weren't expecting much.

But….it proved us wrong. 

It generated two AI hosts that started going at it. Back and forth, proper conversation, the kind you'd actually listen to on a commute.

They broke down the data, gave context, explained what the trends actually mean for brands and creators; all from the documents we uploaded.

We had it playing while making coffee and by the time we sat back down we understood the topic better than we would have after an hour of reading.

The thing that surprised us most was how natural it sounded. Not robotic, not stiff; just two people who clearly knew the material having a real conversation about it.

It literally gives you the power to customize your way of learning and it changes the game altogether for how we learn new things today.

3. Dense Report to a Detailed Visual in just 2 minutes.

Imagine you need to sound smart ina  room where you are presenting. There’s a huge report about the industry you work in but don’t have time to read it.

We bet NotebookLM is going to be you go-to when you read what we did next:

We uploaded a 2026 AI and procurement landscape report into NotebookLM and asked it to generate an infographic.

Two minutes later this came out.

Global GDP forecasts, inflation data, supply chain trends, agentic AI governance — all pulled from the document and laid out visually in a way that actually makes sense at a glance.

We checked the numbers and everything was accurate.

For something that took two minutes, it's genuinely impressive.

One honest note though — the design isn't quite boardroom ready yet. It's a smart draft, not a finished product. Feels like something Google will polish over time but right now you'd want to clean it up before sharing externally.

Still. Two minutes. From a raw PDF. It’s definitely it is something and will save a lot of time.

4. NotebookLM as a Study Buddy for your Kid

If there’s one AI tool you should make your kid use, it’s this. Or even use it yourself to help them study. And let us tell you how. ⬇️

Every parent knows the Sunday evening struggle.

They have a test they haven’t studied for, textbook open, kid completely checked out, you trying to explain photosynthesis for the third time while they stare at the ceiling.

Here's what you do instead:

👉 Pull out your phone, take a picture of the chapter; it doesn't need to be perfect, just readable — and upload it straight into NotebookLM.

That's it. That's the whole setup.

We did exactly this with a 9th grade biology chapter on photosynthesis and first asked it to generate a quiz.

Ten MCQ questions, properly structured, right level of difficulty — the kind a teacher would actually set in class.

If your kid goes wrong at one question it automatically explains why as shown

• Then we asked for flashcards on the key terms.

Chlorophyll, chloroplasts, glucose, light dependent reactions — every concept broken down into clean bite sized cards a student can actually study from.

It just took us 3 minutes and a phone camera – and voila! Your kid is all prepped to nail their next exam / test.

For parents this means you don't need to understand the chapter yourself to help your kid prepare for it. Just snap and upload.

For teachers — stop spending evenings manually writing questions. Photograph the chapter, generate the quiz, and go home on time.
