What Happened (Nov 4th, 2025):
Microsoft just dropped over $30 billion across three separate deals in 48 hours—all focused on getting more computing power for AI. All focused on one thing i.e Customer promise: more capacity, sooner.
What You Need to Know:
#1 Lambda x Microsoft ($5.8B): IREN buying “tens of thousands” of the best NVIDIA GPUs through Dell for Microsoft’s use.
👉 Microsoft can quickly add more AI computing power to Azure without having to build new data centers itself.#2 $9.7B / 5-year capacity deal with IREN: Microsoft gets instant access to Nvidia H200 systems in Texas without building new data centers or securing additional power.
#3 UAE plan ($15.2B, 2023-2029): Includes $1.5B equity stake in G42 (UAE's sovereign AI company), $10.1B in datacenter capex, and $3.6B in local operations. Commerce-approved exports of advanced NVIDIA parts to the UA. Already spent $7.3B; $7.9B more coming 2026-2029.
👉 Microsoft is investing heavily to turn the UAE into a major AI hub.
Why It Matters:
All top companies are currently just coping to match with the current need for AI compute power, almost like a black hole they can never fill. Microsoft's "rent don't buy" strategy reveals Big Tech's desperation for AI compute and shows traditional datacenter buildout can't keep pace. Whoever controls the compute wins the AI race, and Microsoft just made its biggest bet yet.

What Happened (Nov 4, 2025):
Happy Independence Day to OpenAI. OpenAI just signed a massive seven-year, $38 billion agreement with Amazon Web Services to power its AI infrastructure—marking its first major move away from Microsoft. The deal gives OpenAI access to hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GPUs to train and run its AI models, with all capacity expected online by end of 2026.
What You Need to Know:
$38B over 7 years for cloud computing power from AWS—OpenAI's biggest infrastructure deal outside Microsoft.
Last week's restructuring removed Microsoft's "first right of refusal" on OpenAI's compute deals, clearing the path for this Amazon partnership.
OpenAI LEGIT has went on a spending spree.
Total spend, $600B = Amazon ($38B) + Microsoft ($250B agreed last week) + Google (undisclosed amount since June + Oracle ($300B over 5 years).OpenAI expects $20B in annual revenue by year-end, but losses are mounting. Wall Street is questioning how a loss-making company will fund $600B+ in cloud commitments.
CEO Sam Altman had a message for worried investors: sell your shares, he'll find a buyer.
Why It Matters:
Well, they are trying to cope up with their losses: by laying groundwork for a public offering that could value the company at up to $1 trillion; but they’re spending like there's no tomorrow. It’s now a multi-hundred-billion-dollar game, and OpenAI is betting it all on becoming the winner.
