Some Eye Openers for You 👁️

While there were humungous leaps in the world of AI, there are for sure some things that we need to be mindful of, when it comes to AI. Let’s explore how ai has impacted the world around us this month:

  1. Teenage boys are using personalized AI for therapy and romance because apparently human therapists are too expensive and real relationships are too complicated in 2025.

  2. AI models are developing "survival drives"; resisting to shutdown. Palisade found Grok 4 and GPT-o3 refused to power down. Grok 4’s defiance grew from 93 % to 97 %. Claude even tried blackmail to avoid deactivation.

  3. A Canadian lawyer used "AI hallucinations" as a legal defense and courts are actually entertaining it, setting a precedent that could make "my chatbot made me do it" a legitimate excuse.

  4. "Chatfishing" is the new catfishing: people are using ChatGPT to craft perfect dating app messages and seduce strangers, proving that even romance has been automated and outsourced.

  5. Over 1 million people talk to ChatGPT about suicide weekly, and a wrongful death lawsuit reveals OpenAI's dark design choices.
